Digital Reports
  • Why would I use a "digital report" instead of a PDF report?
A digital report is more accessible - it is readable on any device with a web browser, blind and low vision readers can use a tool called a "screen reader" to read and navigate your report, specific sections can be linked to, and the content will also be indexed by search engines so it's more likely to be found. You can also include video and audio in a digital report. You also have the option of commissioning custom functionality like an interactive panel to display content or adding animation to bring it to life. Digital reports can still include a PDF download so that readers who prefer that format can save it or print it from a PDF file.
  • I don’t want a website but I do want a high-quality digital report – can this solution make a report with navigation like a website, can it include tables, recordings and videos?
Absolutely. A digital report is like a small website of its own. Site Maker includes special templates for producing digital reports based on the elements common to reports produced by the Foundation or CSI. They include tables, images, nicely styled text, a dynamic (automatic) table of contents to make it easy for users to navigate the document. Digital reports are more accessible, they can be read by screen readers used by people who are blind or have low vision. And because Site Maker websites are responsive, they will look great on any device with a web browser including smartphones, tablets, computers - even smart TV's. You can also add a PDF download to your digital report so that people can download and/or print a version of the report.
